Vermont Psychiatric Care Hospital (VPCH) Advisory Committee

The Vermont Psychiatric Care Hospital (VPCH) Advisory Committee is a group that includes interested community members, individuals who self-identify as peers, representatives from Disability Rights Vermont, VPS, and NAMI  the Commissioner of the Department of Mental Health (DMH) or designee, and the VPCH Chief Executive Officer (CEO) who functions as Committee Chair.

This group meets monthly at VPCH to receive updates from the CEO and other members of the VPCH Executive Committee and other hospital leaders, regarding hospitals operations, processes, challenges, and changes. Committee members, as representatives of the greater community served by the hospital, engage in dialogue with the Commissioner and hospital clinical and administrative leaders, provide feedback and advice, and serve on committees that advance VPCH’s implementation of the SAMHSA Six Core Strategies to Reduce Seclusion and Restraint.  VPCH Advisory Committee members are appointed by the Commissioner and serve on a voluntary basis.  Advisory Committee meetings are open to members of the public.
