Pursuant to 18 V.S.A. § 8907 and the Administrative Rules on Agency Designation, as well as Certified Community Based integrated Health Center (CCBHC) Certification Criteria, the Vermont Department of Mental Health (DMH) and Vermont Department of Health (VDH) hereby notify the public of Northeast Kingdom Human Services’ Application for Redesignation and Application to become a CCBHC.
A 14-day period of public comment is provided for DMH and VDH to gather information about Northeast Kingdom Human Services (NKHS). This is part of the process to decide whether or not the State of Vermont will renew the agency’s designation to deliver mental-health services to adults, children, adolescents and families in the Northeast Kingdom. Additionally, this Public Comment Period helps DMH and VDH determine Northeast Kingdom Human Services’ readiness to become a Certified Community Based integrated Health Center (CCBHC).
Comments from consumers, parents, family members and other concerned citizens about your experiences with services provided by NKHS are welcomed. Public comments will be accepted for the two-week period from Wednesday, April 02, 2025, until the close of business on Tuesday, April 15, 2025. In particular, DMH and VDH are interested in knowing:
- What are the strengths and challenges of the agency?
- Does the agency work well with other agencies in the community?
- Do people get the mental health and substance use services that they need?
- Do people get mental health and substance use services when they need them?
- Have you ever felt discriminated against in working with the agency?
- Do you have any recommendations for improvements?
Please email or mail written comments or contact us by phone no later than Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
