• During the 2017 Legislative session, Act 35 Minor Consent for Outpatient Mental Health Treatment was passed and went into effect on January 1, 2018. The Department of Mental Health received many questions related to this bill. While we understand the desire for more guidelines related to this new legislation, we understand from the Legislature it is not their expectation or desire that the Department of Mental Health provide those guidelines.  Their intent is to keep the legislation as open as possible. Therefore, we requested the Committees that were key on passing this bill to provide some clarification on their legislative intent. Click here for a link to the clarification.
